Emergency Dental Care at My Dental Moments

Patients require emergency dentistry for a number of reasons. Whether you chipped your tooth while eating hard candy or playing a contact sport or woke up in the middle of the night with a throbbing toothache, we have solutions.

Emergency appointments can be made per request. While we typically have same-day availability, please be aware that you may have to be seen the next day. No matter, we will do our best to get you in as soon as possible.

Home Care for Common Dental Emergencies

Woman with extreme jaw painUntil you can come in to see us for emergency care, here are three common types of dental emergencies and how to address them:

  • Knocked-out or chipped teeth — The quicker you can come into the practice for care, the more likely we’ll be able to preserve your tooth. Until you arrive, place your tooth in a sealed container, submerged in milk.
  • Broken filling, crown or bridge — Be careful not to use your tooth to bite or chew with, as such pressure could result in additional breakage.
  • Toothache — Apply a cold compress to the outside of the cheek near the area of your tooth discomfort. You also can rinse your mouth with tepid salt water and take an anti-inflammatory.

Insurance Information

Due to the varying nature of each emergency, it is difficult to predict the cost of care prior to your appointment. Upon your arrival and taking a look at the problem, we will be able to provide you with a more definite answer. Though My Dental Moments accepts Medibank, Bupa, CDBS, and NSW dental vouchers, we cannot guarantee coverage. Feel free to contact our practice with specific financial inquiries.
